We have no problem importing drawings from the engineers (3D and SolidWorks). Our system reads virtually every CAD system out there. 0002 tolerance. We do everything from reverse engineering to putting in the CAD files direct from the engineer.
We machine products up to 11" in diameter on our lathes & up to 48” in length on our mills. MBD entities can be imported from the following formats: STEP, Siemens NX, Creo, Autodesk. This can reduce or eliminate the need for external drawings that typically accompany imported files.

We use FeatureCam (Autodesk) and update our software regularly to keep up with the industry. Capturing that data upon import and having it automatically be associated to the imported geometry inside Mastercam can be a significant time-saver.
